It was reported that this brilliant member of the cometary family of Kreutz sungrazers could be glimpsed right next to the sun at high noon by blocking out the solar disk with one's hand. It is shown in the early morning sky over China's Li River, where a fisherman and associates pause to contemplate the cosmic visitor.
